about

An acoustic re-make of Zubris' 2009 Release of "For You" from the Till It's Over EP.

lyrics

This is our world and it's breaking at the seams. you do what you want you won't take it, won't take it from me.

It's not about the size of your rock, the brand of that collar you pop, it's if someone needs some help and you stop. Not about the amount in your bank account, or the bottle of "bub" in the club, model you rubbed, drunk bumping to the subs. I'm so sick of 'em bragging about appearances. What year is this? Lookin' in the mirror, bag and bling, I don't think you're hearing things. Nagging and we can only afford the daggone clearances. Pushing past interference, surface clear persevere this. Looking for the disappearance, fake MC's acting fearless. Lending keys, bending rules, taking names, and spending G's, using lies to take this game - you decide if it's a shame. But radio's replaying them twenty times a day and no matter what they're sayin' yo, you stayin on the station. It's a sick beat, sick hook. Baby they just hated and degraded you but you're thinking it's something you related to.

This is our world and it's breaking at the seams. you do what you want you won't take it, won't take it from me.

How did it amount to this? Who will we account for this? Landfills overflowing, this planet's candle's slowly blowing out while we're stuffing our mouths, watching reality shows on the couch. We need to get priorities straight, pay attention to the hate instead of headlines of what a celebrity ate. Slow down, you're gettin' ahead of me, wait! No slowing till I'm dead in heaven, in front of the gates. All this hate is eatin' away at me. Acting great, though we say we see. The human race is a waste everyday that I can't help the state of thee and I hope this taste won't leave in haste, while I keep my pace, and I lead this race. You can be the hare, I'll be the tortoise. The chorus before this gettin' the environmentalists stiffer than rigor mortise. Keep acting G. The forces backing me are breaking doors in. Sayin' you're not seeing me? Hell no, you can't ignore him. Faces wet with sweat, the truth is scary, yeah, I'm filling your pores in.

This is our world and it's breaking at the seams. you do what you want you won't take it, won't take it from me.
This is our world.
This is our our world
This is our world.
You won't take it, won't take it from me.

What's the earth worth now? It's like a purse with the seams burst out. So much hurt, full of hate like the worst curse out. We need to start minding our business 'fore we end up on another country's hit list. What is this? Instead of what Iraq does we need to start worrying about puttin' the world back on its axis 'cause I really don't give a damn what religion they practice. Pushed it past its limit, need to re-spin it - now we're all a bunch of dimwits. Start respecting each other's countries or we'll never get out in one piece; I'm done, please, but I'm gonna spit it till my lungs bleed. "But he's a Muslim!" Yeah? Well, he's my cousin and I love 'em 'cause we all need someone. Just a brother from another mother yet we're killing each other, but I'd be willing to bet they spill the same blood, same tears and same sweat.

This is our world and it's breaking at the seams. you do what you want you won't take it, won't take it from me.
This is our world.
This is our our world
This is our world.
You won't take it, won't take it from me.

about

Zubris Durham, North Carolina

Calling Zubris' music a mixture of alternative rock, rap, folk and pop still wouldn't quite describe it. Like he, his music is in a constant state of change as he experiences life and grows as a human. He hopes you'll grow with him and realize no ones perfect, but if we can all see the world with a little more love and understanding we can at least say we tried. ... more
